JovialJman - More Parodies (The Less Musical Kind)

It might look like a child painted it but Pavel Jerdanowitch painted it.

Do you enjoy modern art, romance novels or cartoons? All of these things have had a parody of the genera of their respected fields. They gained popularity and have just stuck. Lets talk about that.

We all know of the parodies of music, from artists ranging from Weird Al Yankovic, to Bart Baker. There are people that have made parodies on other things then music. Most of these are hoaxes that artist tried to portray but it caught on in a manner that was surprising to the artists and became famous.

During World War II, James McAuley and Harold Stewart, (two members of the Australian Army), decided to play a joke/prank on the whole poet medium. They made up a poet by the name of Ern Malley, who apparently just died and a frighteningly young age. So they wrote 17 poems, (which were quickly made from quotes, like a report on mosquito breeding grounds), under this made up name and mailed it to Angry Penguins, the editor, a 22 year old man named Max Harris, was really impressed by these poems, even though they were hog wash. There was even a paragraph in one of the poems that made it clear as day about their intention, which was:
It is necessary to understand

That a poet may not exist, that his writing
Are the incomplete circle and straight drop
Of a question mark.

The hoax was revealed and shortly afterwards Angry Penguins closed down, but it was for a multitude of other reasons. These artists hoax become way more popular than that of their own work

A Painter also played a prank but on the modern art. Paul Jordan Smith was convinced that the modern genera was a bit crowded. He created a set of paintings called "the Seven Deadly Sins," and he used really old brushes he had borrowed and canvases pulled out of the trash. Paul made a fake artist by the name of Pavel Jardanowitch and gave him a really cool back story, saying he was a traveler and a life filled with disease and then let the paintings know to the public, (one of which is the header image). Because of others not realizing it was a hoax or a joke on the medium, Smith's paintings were widely known and sold for a lot of money for the time period. So these garbage paintings are now regarded as money for aren't

Another person, reached out to other authors but only 20 or so responded and was willing to work on an R-rated book, which was a bit "over the top" to try and get there point out. These 20 people were given the same synopsys they each wrote a chapter and then was put together to make the book which was know as Naked Came the Stranger. This book was really involved with the evening activities that there were places that put an age limit onto the book,( and it was hard to make it). this book become very popular, and when it was revealed to be a hoax, people were still buying up the books, even tjough he was small.
